6 -Day tanzania – serengeti – Ngorongoro – Tarangire- Lake Manyara lodge safari

Trip Overview:

On this 6-day lodge safari you will get to explore four different wildlife areas in northern Tanzania. Apart from the Serengeti and the Ngorogoro Crater you will also visit the Tarangire and the Lake Manyara National Park. You will see swamps and plains, herds of elephants and a crater full of game. With small additional cost we arrange accommodation before and after safari. All our tours are inclusive with optional free airport transfers.

Day 0: Arrive in Tanzania:

You’ll be met by our ground handling team at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Namanga Border and transferred to the delightful Arusha City. Relax in your accommodation, savor the enchanting views of Mount Meru, and unwind on the private verandah.

Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

After breakfast the tour departs. First stop is Arusha Town for any last minute purchases before we head off on safari. Afterwards we head towards the Tarangire National Park for a game drive with picnic lunch at the park. Tarangire is well known for its huge elephant population and baobab trees. It forms the centre of an annual migratory cycle that includes up to 3000 elephants, 25,000 wildebeest and 30,000 zebras.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast the tour departs. First stop is Arusha Town for any last minute purchases before we head off on safari. Afterwards we head to Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara National Park offers breathtaking views and a large variety of habitats. Acacia woodlands, water forests, baobab strewn cliffs, algae-streaked hot springs, swamps and the lake itself. And thanks to this the small Park is able to support a large number of animal species and incredible bird life. Manyara has the largest concentration of baboons anywhere in the world and the lions here are also renowned for their tree climbing. Latter evening travel outside the park to Ngorongoro Highlands for Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Lake Manyara - Serengeti National Park

After breakfast you will travel from the Tarangire Area to the lush highlands where crops such as wheat, corn and coffee are grown. Travelling through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area you might stop for a breath-taking view over the Ngorongoro Crater before you continue to the Serengeti National Park. Serengeti means “endless plains” in the language of the Masai and you will see the grassland savannah stretching to the horizon. Bizarre rock formations dot the grassy landscape where predators roam. Blue wildebeests, Thomson’s gazelles, zebras and buffaloes are on the menu… Through the high and open roof of the safari vehicle you will be able to enjoy the diversified habitats and landscapes of the park. You will arrive in the Seronera Valley for an evening meal and overnight stay.

Day 4: Full Day at Serengeti National Park

The entire day is dedicated to game viewing in the Serengeti National Park. The areas that you will visit will depend upon where the migrating herds are to be found. Predators usually follow closely behind the trekking animals. During the short rainy season in November and December the herds move from the hills in the north to the plains in the south. During the longer rainy season from April to June they return up north. As the migration depends upon the yearly rains, the location of the herds might vary from year to year but guide will know where to see them best. You will spend another night at the Kati Kati Tented Camp.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Early morning game drives, and after departs to Ngorongoro Conservation area. We will stopover at Olduvai Gorge, boasting with a history dating back to the dawn of time. It was here, that the anthropologists Drs. Lois and Mary Leakey discovered the skulls of ‘Nutcracker Man’ and ‘Handy Man’, both very significant links in the chain of human evolution late afternoon transfer to Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge where you will have dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha – Airport

After an early breakfast, you will descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro conservation Area supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park, is it’s dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually been seen here. Late afternoon transfer to Arusha For dinner and Overnight or airport drop off.
