6 Days Ngorongoro Highland Trekking
6 Days Ngorongoro highland trekking tour will takes you to the diverse landscapes of the Ngorongoro Crater Highlands – Ngorongoro, Olmoti and Empakai. The track will give you , above all, the greatest sceneries on earth you will never imagine they exist.
It is such a breathtaking hiking through the wide grass and mountainous countryside as well as thick mountain forest and the volcanic stamped savannah landscape of the Rift Valley. Next to the unique nature and animal sightings, this trek allows a deep insight into the daily routines of the Maasai.
Day 0: Arrive in Tanzania:
You’ll be met by our ground handling team at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to the delightful Ahadi Lodge. Relax in your thatched cottage, savor the enchanting views of Mount Meru, and unwind on the private verandah. Located just outside the vibrant town of Arusha, and set in its own tropical gardens, the lodge provides a gentle introduction to the natural beauty of Tanzania.
Day 1: Arusha to Ngorongoro Crater:
Meet our professional tour guide/driver in Arusha town who will deliver a short safari info briefing. After, we travel to the Lake Manyara National Park. We arrive in time for lunch at the lodge. After lunch, we'll head into the park. This impressive park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park) at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake.

The trek gives you great views of the majestic Vulcano as well as into the impressive Empakai Crater before reaching the campsite for the night. A well-maintained track goes to the crater bottom, of which one third is covered by the Empakai Lake. During the night you might hear the flamingo calls when flying back to their breeding nests at Lake Manyara and Lake Natron for Dinner and Overnight.
