10-Day Tanzania Wildebeest Migration Safari: Witness the Greatest Wildlife Spectacle on Earth

This 10-day Tanzania Wildebeest Migration safari offers a front-row seat to this awe-inspiring spectacle, where over two million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles traverse the vast Serengeti in search of fresh grazing lands. As one of the last great migrations on Earth, this journey showcases the raw power of nature, dramatic predator-prey interactions, and the untamed beauty of Tanzania’s most iconic landscapes.

Whether witnessing the thunderous hooves of the wildebeest charging across the savannah, the heart-pounding drama of a predator chase, or the serene beauty of an African sunset, this 10-day Wildebeest Migration safari promises unforgettable moments at every turn. This is more than just a wildlife safari—it’s a once-in-a-lifetime adventure that brings you face-to-face with one of nature’s greatest spectacles in one of Africa’s most pristine wilderness areas.

The Great Wildebeest Migration is one of the most breathtaking natural events on the planet, drawing wildlife enthusiasts and photographers from around the world. A highlight of this safari is the opportunity to experience Tanzania’s rich cultural heritage by visiting indigenous Maasai villages, where travelers can learn about traditional Maasai customs, dances, and warrior culture. These interactions provide a deeper understanding of the land’s history and the communities that have coexisted with wildlife for centuries.

Unlike a typical safari, this adventure follows the herds as they move through the Serengeti, navigating river crossings teeming with crocodiles, open plains patrolled by lions, and lush grasslands filled with newborn calves. Depending on the season, travelers may witness the dramatic Mara River crossings, where thousands of wildebeest plunge into treacherous waters, or the calving season in the southern Serengeti, where predators lurk in anticipation of an easy meal. This safari is carefully designed to provide the best possible chances of witnessing these unforgettable moments.

Beyond the migration, this journey includes game drives through Tanzania’s top national parks, including the world-famous Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its dense concentration of wildlife. Visitors will have the chance to spot the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino—along with cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, and countless bird species.

Day 10: Lake Manyara - Return to Arusha/Airport:

We pick you up from your hotel and drive to Lake Manyara. The park derived its name from the Maasai word “Manyara”, which is the Swahili name for the plant, Euphorbia tirucalli. The Maasai use this plant to grow livestock stockades, which matures to a highly durable shockproof hedge. Manyara provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. More than 400 species have been recorded, and even a first-time visitor to Africa might reasonably expect to observe 100 of these in one day. Inland of the floodplain, a narrow belt of acacia woodland is the favored haunt of Manyara’s legendary tree-climbing lions and impressively tusked elephants. After lunch we will leave the park and pass-by Maasai Boma along the way before we reach to Arusha and transferred to airport.
